Our Glass Bottles Lose Weight in 2013
The same amount of water, the same size bottle – but lightweight glass means that the 330ml bottle has lost 18% of its weight and the 750ml bottle is 17% lighter.
We’re always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint to benefit the environment. We recently teamed up with Rawlings, to the develop the UK’s lightest weight glass bottle in the hospitality sector. Being able to reduce the glass weight allows us to tick off any environmental concerns, with less use of glass allows our british glass to go further.
Customers can benefit too…
1. Less weight in their glass disposal
2. Supporting Wenlock Spring in contributing to the sustainability of the environment – glass is endlessly 100% recyclable with no loss of quality.
Steve Land, Managing Director of Swallow, the West Midlands leading independent drinks wholesaler, commented: “We are always looking for ways to make our business increasingly efficient. Cost savings are important but of equal consideration is our impact on the environment. The new lightweight glass from Wenlock Spring delivers positive results in both of these areas. The reduction in weight helps us in ways that you would not initially consider – and means that we have something to then communicate to our customers. It is about all working together with the same overall aims – and the continual steps being taken at Wenlock Spring regarding their environmental approach, helps us as a business too.”
